Reception Curriculum

The children in our Reception class build on their academic, social, emotional and physical development. This is where their confidence and independence are developed further as tasks are devised to challenge and inspire learning in a cooperative, caring and positive environment.

The curriculum is divided into seven areas of learning: three Prime areas and four Specific areas. These are:

PRIMARY AREAS

* Personal, Social and Emotional development

* Physical development

* Communication and Language

SPECIFIC AREAS

* Literacy

* Mathematics

* Understanding the World

* Expressive Arts and Design

Children in our Reception class have two Religious Education lessons a week and take part in specialist subject areas of the curriculum such as PE, Computing and French.
