At A-level, students follow the AQA biology specification. At AS and A2, the course is examined with two written papers as well as an investigative and practical skills unit.
At AS, the course contains 2 parts: unit 1 (biology and disease) and unit 2 (the variety of living organisms). At A2, the course also contains 2 parts: unit 4 (populations and environment) and unit 5 (control in cells and in organisms).
