Breakfast Club

At Bishop Challoner Breakfast Club opens from 07:15 to the start of the school day at 08:30. Breakfast is served until 08:05.

We aim to provide an emotionally and physically safe environment for children; an environment where children feel comfortable, where their self-confidence, sense of responsibility, and an awareness of others can grow in a positive direction.

Because it is important that they are alert and calm at the start of the school day, children are provided with healthy options for breakfast; low sugar/low additive cereals, wholemeal toast, pancakes, spreads, fruit, fruit juice, fromage frais and Baby Bel. Water and milk is always available. Bishop Challoner is a “Nut Free” School.

While eating, children are encouraged to chat quietly, calmly, and politely.

After breakfast, children can choose from a wide range of activities and are encouraged to play independently, imaginatively and fairly. There are a variety of independent and adult lead craft activities planned throughout the year.

At the end of a session, children from Nursery to year 2 are delivered to their class teachers. Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 make their way to their class lines without supervision.

Please note that the Breakfast Club (£7.30 per session if paid termly in advance) and Crèche (£7.30 per hour if paid termly in advance) prices have increased proportionately from the summer term 2024.

Homework Club - Juniors

At the end of the school day, pupils in Years 5 and Year 6 may opt to join Homework Club in the Library. These supervised sessions allow pupils to complete homework tasks in a quiet setting.
