Bishop Challoner celebrated over 25 per cent of grades 9/8 at GCSE. There is a significant increase in the number of 9 – 7 grades achieved which has more than doubled compared to last year.

74.5 per cent of students achieved grade 9-4 in five or more subjects, with 65.7 percent gaining at least five GCSEs including mathematics and English Language. Subjects achieving the highest grade 9 included biology, chemistry, computing, English Language and English Literature, geography, history, physical education, physics, religious studies and Spanish.

100 per cent 9-4 grades were achieved in biology, chemistry, design technology, French and physics. In addition, over half of all students studying computing, drama, geography, history, and religious studies gained grades 9-6.

Headteacher Paula Anderson said, ‘I am immensely proud of those students who have worked so hard to gain the grades that they deserve and some have exceeded all expectations. I am pleased that our continued focus and drive for students to achieve their very best and to aim high has clearly impacted on many of the results’.

Top Performer Sahand Kheirkhah achieved 10 GCSEs with six grade 9s and four grade 8s. Congratulations to Lucas Virk and William Kilgannon who gained eight 9/8 grades amongst their results. Congratulations to Meredith Matthews, Isabelle Queva and Isabella Aquilina who all gained five 9 or 8 grades amongst their other pleasing results.
