Congratulations To Nathaniel for winning 1st Prize in the Divine Chocolate Poetry Competition
Congratulations to Nathaniel in Year 8A for winning 1st Prize in his age group in the Divine Chocolate Poetry Competition supporting Fair Trade (Nathaniel’s poem is published on page 4). The theme of the competition was ‘Chocolate is something we cherish’ combining our love of chocolate and supporting Fairtrade. Here is his winning poem:
Our chocolate; which art in our bellies,
Hallowed by thy taste,
May chocolate come,
When school is done,
At home or in the shops.
Give us this day our daily bar,
And help others to receive fair-trade,
As we help people on cocoa farms;
Lead them to a fairer and more pleasant life,
But deliver us from vegetables.
For, divine is the taste, the smell and the farmers;
Forever and ever.
In the name of the chocolate bar,
And of the cocoa farmers,
And of all Divine chocolate.
