News and events
Special events frequently take place, from drama workshops to book fairs to visitors coming into school to talk to classes. Some of these involve the whole of the Junior School while others are relevant to just one or two classes. Events such as these provide additional opportunities to bring learning alive and extend and enrich the curriculum.
Recent special events include:
- Planting and growing of daffodils in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care
- Gardening – each class maintains its own growing area, producing a range of flowers, salads and vegetables
- Drama Workshops – run by visiting groups
- Visits from local dentists, fire-fighters and the police
- Talks on road safety
- Participation in the Bromley Junior Citizenship programme
- Cycling Proficiency training – For Year 6 pupils each year
- Participation in the Young Enterprise programme
- Regular book fairs
- The Junior School Choir has recently sung at the O2 arena in Greenwich and at Wembley Arena as part of the ‘Voice in a Million’ project.
- Life Education Bus

Trips and Visits
Educational visits are organised on a regular basis. Examples include
- Visits within the local area as part of a local geography study
- Visits to Crystal Palace Park and children’s farm, linking with work in Science and English
- Visits to Westminster Cathedral
- A visit to the Tower of London as part of Year 5’s history work
- Year 6 visit the Houses of Parliament each year as part of their Citizenship programme
- Years 5 and 6 go on a residential School Journey each summer
- Reception to Year 4 have a summer outing each year
