A Level Results 2018
This year many of our students were celebrating as they opened their envelopes to reveal their A level results.
35 per cent of the results were A-B grades with students enjoying 100 per cent A-C grades in computer science, further maths, history and in the Extended Project Qualification. 50 per cent of students achieved A grades in mathematics, over 60 percent of students gained A-B grades in geography, physics and English Literature.
Among the many individual successes; Alessio will be heading off to Southampton University to study robotics-electronic/mechatronic engineering, having gained A grades in mathematics and physics and a B grade in geography. Euan has chosen to study mathematics at the University of Exeter. He achieved grade A in mathematics and physics and B in further mathematics.
Many of our students will be studying a range of subjects including law, sport psychology, computer science, pharmacy, psychology, music and construction management.
Mrs Paula Anderson, Headteacher said: “I congratulate the students on their examination achievements and their results are a testament of sustained hard work and determination over a two year period of study. I wish each of our leavers all the very best for their futures.”
The support and encouragement of the dedicated staff at Bishop Challoner and the community of parents have enabled the students to achieve some excellent results.

GCSE Results 2018
The GCSE results this year have been reported on the new grade scale which runs from 9 to 1, apart from in Design Technology. 80 per cent of pupils achieved grade 9-4 or equivalent in 5 or more subjects with 69 percent gaining at least 5 GCSEs including mathematics and English Language.
Many of our students celebrated their GCSE achievements last week at Bishop Challoner School in Shortlands. The new top grade 9 and grade 8 included biology, chemistry, drama, French, history, religious education, English Language and Literature. Congratulations to Lawrence, Martha, Hugo, Rachel and Myles on achieving grade 9 amongst their other grades. Over half of all pupils studying History and French gained grades 9-7. Our top performers included Hugo and Martha with a high percentage of 9-7 grades among their GCSE results. Asili achieved an impressive number of grade 7s among her 9 GCSE grades.
Headteacher Paula Anderson said, “There are some pleasing results for our students and for the school with some individual success stories. I would like to congratulate the students who have worked hard and thank the staff and parents for their encouragement”.
