Seamless Progression

We are rightly proud of our EYFS at Bishop Challoner School. Our EYFS has a unique, cohesive flavour starting in our nursery and ending in Reception class. The progression between environments and the excellent communication between the two ends, ensures positive and secure relationships with staff are built upon from the outset. Nursery and Reception staff share key information about the children as a continual process to support best outcomes. In general terms, the children who make progression have completed their transition way before the September start and can get on with learning and development. Some curricular elements such as Forest School and the use of Read, Write, Inc to teach phonics has already begun in nursery and simply continues in Reception, promoting real progression in learning.
