A-Level Success !
In the first public examinations since 2019, Bishop Challoner School pupils celebrated a highly impressive 50% A* - B in their A Levels with 100% pass rate. 81% of the cohort achieving their first choice university destination. This is a wonderful achievement set against an incredibly tough two years, whereby the cohort were unable to sit GCSEs in 2020 and so this summer’s exams were their first external assessments. Destinations this year include Nottingham, Newcastle, Surrey and York. There are a wonderful range of courses our pupils will be undertaking ranging from Music to Classics and Psychology to Art and Illustration. One pupil is moving to the University of Illinois on a Football Scholarship and another is undertaking a higher level apprenticeship in Human Resources at a prestigious insurance brokerage.Headteacher, Mark Wallace, commented: ' We are all extremely pleased for our pupils with the results they have achieved this year. Clearly the past two and a half years have tested this cohorts resolve, determination and resilience, like never before. They were unable to sit GCSEs in 2020 and so this summer’s exams were the first external assessments they have taken. Their results are testament to their commitment and dedication to their studies and I am delighted that their hard work has been rewarded. Everyone at Bishop Challoner School would like to thank them all for their outstanding contribution to the school over their time with us, both inside and outside the classroom. This year group have been wonderful to work with and been excellent ambassadors for the school. We wish them every success for the future as they go onto the next stages of their lives. They have exciting careers and opportunities in front of them. I would also like to thank our pupils' parents and the school's staff for their support in achieving these results.'
