GCSE Success !

In the first public examinations since 2019, Bishop Challoner School pupils celebrated a highly impressive 20% grades at 9-8 and 40% grades 9-7 in their GCSEs. This is a wonderful achievement set against an incredibly tough two years, whereby this summer’s exams were their first external assessments. Individual successes were achieved by Ohemaa O-S who managed ten grade 9s, while Kittie G achieved five grade 9s, and Rosie B was thrilled with her three grade 9s. Elizabeth C was rewarded nine grade 8s and Laurence F was delighted with five grade 8s and four grade 7s.There were particularly excellent results across the Science Faculty, Computer Science, Physical Education and Religious Studies departments.Headteacher, Mark Wallace, commented: ' Following on from our impressive A-Level results last week, I am equally delighted for our Year 11 cohort with their GCSEs. The past two and a half years have tested this cohorts resolve, determination and resilience. They have had to navigate their way through long periods of uncertainly while maintaining their focus and motivation. Their results are testament to their commitment and dedication to their studies and I am delighted that their hard work has been rewarded. Everyone at Bishop Challoner School would like to thank them all for their outstanding contribution to the school over their time with us, both inside and outside the classroom. This year group have been wonderful to work with and we look forward to them continuing their educational pathways with us at Bishop Challoner into the Sixth Form. For those who will be leaving us, we wish them every success for the future as they go onto their next destinations. I would also like to thank our pupils' parents and the school's staff for their support in achieving these results.'
